Golden Naked Oats are an oat crystal malt product produced by Simpsons Malting out of the UK.The naked refers to the fact that this oat malt does not have a husk and, as such, will contribute a more smooth and round character.The husk found on grains contains polyphenolic/tannic compounds that contribute astringency in certain conditions.This oat crystal malt will contribute a light and round sweetness along with a subtle nutty character and a velvety smooth mouthfeel.You can expect a little boost in body and head retention from this specialty grain as well.If used in a high enough proportion it will contribute a bright golden hue to your beer.
