Red Flame Switch Grass is a compact, native warm-season ornamental grass with fine blue-green foliage that turns wine red by the end of summer.
In summer stems holding airy clusters create a cloud of tiny pink-tinged flowers above the foliage which turn brown in fall and persist through winter

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance plant. Too much shade will lose its upright form. Beetles and mites are occasional problems. Root and crown rot may occur in poorly drained soils. Some susceptibility to rust.
