Extremely popular, sweet heirloom with an eye-catching appearance reminiscent of the night sky.
The dark green rind is covered in dozens of golden, star-like dots, and one or more larger, yellow, moon-like spots. Dark red flesh has excellent flavor. Large oblong fruit can grow to enormous sizes, up to 40 lbs. Requires warm temperatures to set fruit. Introduced in 1926 by the Henderson Seed Company.
