Description
Early Amethyst Beautyberry is a loose open deciduous
shrub valued for its attractive fruits. The mild green foliage has no fall color.
Clusters of tiny lavender pink flowers bloom in summer
attracting bees
and
butterflies
, then give way to bursts of bright magenta fruits that ripen earlier than the species and persists into early winter. Best foliage color in
full sun
, but some shade promotes drought tolerance.
