About- Merlin Hybrid Beet is an excellent choice for a sweet and nutritious garden experience. It offers a higher sugar content than most beet varieties, ranging between 12-15% brix. Perfect for gardeners of all levels, it grows a smooth, red, globe-shaped root with small-medium crowns and a glossy, dark green top. Ready for harvest in 75-85 days, it’s the perfect addition to any garden.
When and Where to Plant– Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Seeds will germinate in 5-10 days. Select an area with loose soils and full sun.
Care and Harvest– Harvest anytime after the root reaches 1 inch in diameter or as desired. Twist off the leaves rather than cutting to prevent “bleeding” which causes less intense color and perhaps less flavor.
