Description
Ratibida columnifera
A robust, drought tolerant native flower that will happily naturalize in any area you’d like to neglect, and will fit right into your cut flower garden too. Blooms last a week or more when cut. Characteristic black, cone-shaped heads are surrounded by drooping, deep-red petals with a cheery yellow accent. At maturity the upright branching stems may become woody. Plants grow 12-36″ tall. Mexican Hat benefits from cold stratification. Typically grown for flowers. Perennial.
